Coaching Points
- Side step around a marker to receive a ball from the left and right
- Stay light on toes and keep head up ensuring you adjust your feet when receiving the ball
- Complete one way before moving your feet quickly to receive the other side
- Touches should be light yet controlled and away from pressure
- Ensure you set yourself and remain balanced when receiving the ball
Progression Ideas
- Increase the speed of the pass to make it more difficult to control
- Change the way the ball arrives e.g. bounce, spin
- Receive the ball from more than one angle
- Finish with a controlled shot or dribble
- Work against a friend and or set a time to complete the drill
