Receiving - Different Heights

 

Coaching Points

  • Side step around a marker to receive a ball from the left and right
  • Stay light on toes and keep head up ensuring you adjust your feet when receiving the ball
  • Complete one way before moving your feet quickly to receive the other side
  • Touches should be light yet controlled and away from pressure
  • Ensure you set yourself and remain balanced when receiving the ball

Progression Ideas

  • Increase the speed of the pass to make it more difficult to control
  • Change the way the ball arrives e.g. bounce, spin
  • Receive the ball from more than one angle
  • Finish with a controlled shot or dribble
  • Work against a friend and or set a time to complete the drill
