Coaching Points
U8-U13
- Use the outside of the foot to push the ball away from your body
- Step over the ball with your leg moving away from the mid-line of your body
- Finish by pushing the ball the opposite way from the step over to move away from the oncoming defender
- Touches should be light yet controlled and away from pressure
- Stay on toes and head up, yet keeping the ball at the bottom of your peripheral vision
U14-U19

Progression Ideas

- Increase the speed of the move, this will come with practice
- Increase the number of cones to complete a number of step over’s per drill
- Increase to a double scissor to further unbalance the defender
- Finish with a controlled pass or shot
- Work against a friend and or set a time to complete the drill
U14-U19
