Footwork - Toe Tap Roll Back


Coaching Points

  • Use the sole of the foot, between the middle of your foot and toes
  • Stay on your toes and hop from one foot to the other using the sole to touch the middle of the ball and push it forwards
  • Complete exercise going backwards before then going forwards
  • Touches should be light yet controlled and roll the ball forward from the body
  • Stay on toes and head up, yet keeping the ball at the bottom of your peripheral vision
  • Check shoulder when performing backwards to ensure you are aware from any obstacles

Progression Ideas

  • Increase the speed of the exercise, this will come with practice
  • Increase the distance of the drill
  • Change directions whilst performing the exercise
  • Complete Brazilian toe taps
  • Work against a friend and or set a time to complete the drill
